Introduction:

Through the course Industrial Design Project B at Lund University I was able to develop my skills while working on this project. The courses aim was to “develop the strategic design ideation, form-development and design detailing skills needed to generate Visual Brand Languages”. The intention of the project was to design a coherent set of products that would have consistent design language in all three products and represent the chosen existing or created brand.

Le Creuset, is a timeless brand that cares about quality and consistency. Through the welcoming of new kitchen appliances into their brand, it could increase their attraction to consumers. Copper is a modern take on the classic “Le Creuset” aesthetic and brings a new level of interest to the company. By researching competing brands and target groups, I have designed a product that will uphold quality and style in the best way possible.

Copper is a product line that is also cordless. It uses rechargeable and removable batteries to power each individual product. The batteries are interchangeable with each product in the line. Through this, it is hoped that not only the aesthetic appeal of not having a cord, but also the idea of using less power and less space will intrigue consumers into being more conscious about what they are buying and putting in their homes.
